We're Back Baby!
Wow - has it really been months and months since we've posted? Yes, it seems it has been... After a summer, fall and winter of craziness, it's time to get back to business. With so many things going on with Bombshell Bargains and personally, time has flown by and spring is already around the corner.Exciting news is that there is a baby Bombshell on the way, due to make an appearance in May. Actually, we don't know if it is going to be a Bombshell or a Bomber, but either way there is no stopping her/him! And with all the changes a pregnancy brings about, it has been a great time to try out some products to help with these new 'challenges'.
My new best friend in my makeup case is the Clinique Acne Solutions Concealer Stick ($11.99). Unfortunately, the 'glow' and dewy clear skin many pregnant women describe during pregnancy has yet to appear on my face. Instead, hormones are ruling the roost and breakouts are the norm. This concealer 'pen' has the finest point on the end that you can gradually swivel up as you use it, so the point always stays nice and precise. Just dab it on any trouble 'spots' and the special formula containing salycilic acid helps to get rid of the blemish while you are concealing it. At first I thought this might be drying and cakey, but as far as a concealer goes, I would use this even if I didn't need to cover a blemish. It is easy to blend and the colour is great.
Another new favourite is Kiehl's Solid Grooming Aid (also $11.99). On a positive note, my hair is falling out less and seems to be a bit thicker than it usually is, so I am enjoying that part, but at the same time it is a bit out of control after I blow-dry. Since I've got a shorter cut, it needs a little separation and control. The Kiehl's Solid Grooming Aid looks a bit like a wax, but without the waxy build-up some other products leave you with. You just need a bit of this stuff, but it gives great definition with a bit of hold that doesn't look greasy or too gummy.

Brow Wow!
I decided today to take a little detour while out delivering orders all over town and go in to get my brows threaded. It is been too long since the last time, and I was starting to get a little 'overgrown'. I always go to the same place - a little tiny salon where you can just walk in, be done in about five minutes, and it only costs $5. I still can't understand exactly how it works - one end of the thread in your mouth and the rest twisted up tightly. But compared to waxing, the result is even more precise. And no wax residue or red clown brows for the day! And for those who want a clean sweep above the upper lip, one more dollar will have that pesky little moustache gone in a minute. If you are in Vancouver, check out Kohli's at Main and 49th.

Needles & Nap Time
If there is anyone in the world absolutely terrified of needles, I admit it is myself. The thought of one, the sight of one and I'm out like a light. So when I told some friends I was going to try acupuncture as a an alternative to some traditional drugs and treatments, they thought I was completely out of my mind. "How on earth are you going to do that?" was the resounding reaction. For some reason, it just didn't seem that scary to me. Maybe it would cure me of my phobia? As it turns out, I can't really feel the needles at all and after they are inserted, the music is on, some candles are lit and my lavender eye mask is on, I tend to drift off into a nice nap. It is indeed incredibly relaxing and for the rest of the day I feel calm, de-stressed and sleep like a baby that night. I've only had a few sessions, so it's a bit early to tell what the effects are. But in the end, even if my concerns which led me to acupuncture aren't completely resolved, I am certain that it will still be a great step towards better health.
